The file contains information on the family history of the de Lauren, Charest, Bringier families from 1797 to 1948. It consists of a marriage contract between Marie Elizabeth Etiennette Charest deLauzan and Pierre Francois duBourg from Jamaica in 1797, a handwritten biographical lineage for the Charest de Lauzon family from Etienne Charest (1631-1699) to Etienne Charest (1718-1783), and typed excerpts from J-Émond Roy ’s “Histoire de la Siegneurie de Lauzon” with a forward and afterward by Hally Carrington Brent dated 1948, and an exhibition introduction titled "The Bringiers of Louisiana: an antebellum dynasty." A transcription of the marriage contract is available.
