Name of creator
Charles E. Ferrin was born in 1824 to Micah Ela Ferrin (1787-1863) and Lucinda Ferrin (née Conant; 1796-1880). He never married. He died in 1870.
Scope and content
The file contains primary source information on Charles E. Ferrin from 1845 to 1848. It consists of letters written by Charles to his brother, Martin C. Ferrin and "sister" (presumably his sister-in-law, Sarah Mead Ferrin).
Some of the letters are torn, stained, and have many creases due to having been folded over a long period of time.
Immediate source of acquisition
Letters signed "C.E. Ferrin" can be found in the Clark E. Ferrin subseries. It is possible that some of these letters were authored by Charles E. Ferrin. Only letters signed "Chas." or "Charles" Ferrin appear in this subseries.
