The series contais primary source information on the personal and professional life of Rev. Louis C. Wurtele from 1854 to 1919, when he was a student at University of Bishop's College in Lennoxville and then as reverend of the Acton Vale circuit of the Anglican Church. It consists of personal diaries. One of the earlier volumes in the fonds contains entries not just by Louis C. Wurtele but also by Emily Towle, his then fiancée. It contains name and subject indexes. Some volumes assembles newspaper clippings relating to family and health and also contains a synoptic table of the history of the Church.

Title based on contents of series.
The fonds does not include a diary for 1892. The diaries for the years 1855 and 1857-58 have pages that were used as scrapbooks. The diaries for the years 1879, 1883, 1885, and1890 are missing bindings. Some diaries have loose pages.
