History
Frank Grundy was born in Bury, England on 28 March 1836. He studied in Bury and Southport. He married Sabina Tandy; they had two children. From 1850 to 1889, Grundy worked for railway companies in Great Britain. Then, in 1889, he emigrated to Canada and was appointed General Manager of the Quebec Central Railway Company, whose head office is located in Sherbrooke. Grundy's wife and son joined him in 1892. He was promoted to the rank of Vice-President of the company at the beginning of the 20th century. In 1917, he was in Paris working as a war correspondent for the New York Sun. He developed a friendly relationship with Americans serving in the Foreign Legion on leave in Paris.
