The fonds consists of photographs relating to the Jewell family of East Farnham and Iron Hill, most of them from Carmi Jewell and his wife Lucinda Courtney.

The series consists of photographs relating to the Jewell family of East Farnham and Iron Hill. They include two tintypes found in an arithmetic book owned by Carmi Jewell of East Farnham (1840-1922). One photograph represents a grown man with a moustache, who could be Carmi Jewell, and a portrait of two young girls, who could be Carmi's daughters. There is also a negative with two printed reproductions of Carmi Jewell and his wife Lucinda Courtney, and a cabinet card representing a couple with a young boy, identified as Mr. and Mrs. Carmi Jewell, but looking different from the ones on the negative.
