Teachers

The file consists of one souvenir card and one photograph dated 31 March 1901, prepared by E. Pearl Orr, a teacher at South Ham School from September 1900 to September 1901. The souvenir card includes her pupils' names. It also includes a letter from John Wadleigh to H.A. Odell regarding the performance of Miss Lamb at the Ulverton Model school from 1884 and photocopies of a description of the Lorne (also known as Kingsey Station) one-room schoolhouse in Shipton by Ethel D. Emma Pope (1885-1964) as well as two photographs of Ethel as a young woman (1903, 1908) and one showing Miss Brock with some students in front of the Lorne school around 1904.

Examination Reports

The file consists of one detailed student report from Ulverton dated 1909 and signed by James Lester; two enrollment and examination reports for Danville Academy dated 1917, and a "Permanent Record of Progress" from Hampden, Compton County, for 1919 to 1936. The file provides information on the pupils' names, grade levels, and marks, as well as the names of teachers.

The file consists of a catalogue of the officers and students from Stanstead Seminary (now Stanstead College), for 1841-1842; one manuscript school notebook dated 1854; a poem, dated April 1900; an autograph book, dated 1924; a baccalaureate programme, dated 1926; and two school notebooks, dated 1891-1902. The poem, called "Vive Montjoie", is by Dolor Biron, a philosophy student at the Séminaire Saint-Charles Borromée of Sherbrooke. The file provides information on geology, geography, religion, and literature as school subjects. The autograph book provides information on Florence Mead's time as a student at Macdonald College, School for Teachers, including entries from numerous students from the Eastern Townships, lesson plan assignments, observation lessons and a timetable. The programme is for the Sherbrooke High School baccalaureate service held at Plymouth Church in Sherbrooke. The notebooks from Bertha Ralston provide information on school lessons from the area of West Brome from 1891 to 1902.

The file primarily consists of 36 programmes for awards nights and graduations at Alexander Galt Regional High School, Lennoxville. The file provides information about the school's cultural events, performances, and student activities, such as plays, awards nights, graduation ceremonies, and reunions from 1973 to 1998. It is also a source of information on the Waterville School and includes a reunion souvenir booklet, newspaper clipping and program from 1989; a photograph of the Waterville classes of Grades 4, 5 and 6 from around 1940; a proficiency certificate awarded Evelyn Smith in 1916; two concert prorgrammes from the Mitchell school from 1948 and 1965; and a programme from a performance of "Our Hearts were Young and Gay" by the Lennoxville High School Dramatic Society in 1947.

The fonds contains source material on Kay Kinsman's life as an artist from 1947 to 1998 and a student at Bishop's and McGill Universities from the 1970s to 1998. Adelle (Baldwin) Lanoue

The subseries contains primary source information on Adelle Baldwin Lanoue's personal life from 1932 to 1949 and in 1964. It consists primarily of correspondence, much of which was written to family in Canada when she, her husband, Ulric Lanoue, and their son, Robert Baldwin Lanoue, were living as missionaries in the Belgian Congo. The family's 1933 Christmas card includes a photograph of Robert around six months old. Two of the letters, dated 1946 and 1949, were written from Newport, Vermont. The subseries also contains a photocopy of Adelle's obituary from the Rockford Register in 1964.

The collection contains source material on the personal life of Henrietta Kathleen Warren Milne, as well as her involvement with the Memphremagog Library, the Pinecroft retirement home, her further community involvement, and she and her family's finances. It also contains information regarding the historian Leonard Auger, Dr. Austin Bowen, and Henrietta Kathleen's family and friends, including some geneological information. It ranges from approximately 1700 to 2004 and covers mainly the Magog area with some coverage of the wider Eastern Townships. Former Gibbs Home Boys

The item consists of a photograph taken of a group of former Gibbs Home boys, and their families, who had gathered in Sherbrooke for the royal visit of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth in June 1939. The King and Queen made a special stop at the Gibbs Home to visit the British Home Children.

Daily Reminder Book

The subseries contains primary source information on the writing interests of Leonard Auger around the 1930s. It consists of a leather-bound Daily Reminder book, compliments of the Dominion Textile Company. The book contains handwritten texts and simple sketches of building plans.
