It consists of two prize certificates awarded in 1846 to John Hallowell by the Grammar School in Connection with Bishop's College in Lennoxville; a section of a title deed from the British American Land Company to James Hallowell; a commission appointing John Hallowell to the position of Revenue Inspector for the District of Saint Francis in 1857; and Hallowell's Masonic Text-Book, published in 1857 by A.S. Barnes and Co. in New York and containing his signature; deeds of sale for a land transaction between John Hallowell, Robert Hallowell, John Johnston, and the town of Sherbrooke; articles of clerkship by Edward and John Short; certificates of his appointment to the bar and as a member of the Freemasons Victoria Lodge; a will; a diploma. The file also consists of photographs, a newspaper marriage notice, newspaper obituaries, a summary of a lecture Bowen presented to the Library Association and Mechanics Institute, and a lock of John Hallowell's hair taken at his death.

It consists of letters of appreciation for her involvement in the St. Peter's Choir and the Sherbrooke Patriotic Association, a document from the Sherbrooke Patriotic Fund, two letters from Sir Robert Baden Powell that accompanied a Boy Scout badge given to Minnie and Cecil, a watercolour of Minnie done by a friend, two poems signed by A. Beatrice Hickson, Minnie's registration certificate from the Canada Registration Board from 1918, a complaint letter by Minnie to a neighbour, a draft of a share transfer from Noel E. Brooks to Minnie, two letters to her daughter Rose, seven letters to her son Lloyd, and a letter from Harry Grundy. It also consists of a series of letters written by Minnie to friends and family (her mother Helen Maria Clark(e) Hallowell, her brother Meredyth B. Hallowell, her grandmother, aunts (Carrie, Ethel, Belle, Fannie, Lou), uncle Ned, and Cecil's father George Frederick Bowen) from May 1891 to August 1892 during she and Cecil's travels between Sherbrooke, QC and Pilley's Island, Newfoundland where Cecil was General Manager of the mines, as well as detailing their life on the Island. The correspondence from Pilley's Island also includes one receipt from Henry Burt addressed to Minnie.

It consists of handwritten notes related to the family crest and other family history, handwritten and typed family trees, a page from The Illustrated London News (June 17, 1893) displaying a photo captioned "The Bazaar at the Royal United Service Institution, Whitehall: The Committee" which includes Captain S.M. Eardley-Wilmot, sermons prepared by the Reverend Prebendary E.A. Eardley-Wilmot (including one published in The Record May 21, 1909), and pages from the 1917 edition of the book Debrett's Peerage, Baronetage, Knightage and Companionage to be revised by C.H. Bowen, as well as later editions of the book.

It consists of blueprints for a house, a handwritten prayer, an envelope with folded papers holding locks of Cecil, Rose, Lloyd, and Helen's hair, an advertisement for a private theatre show at Rockmount (1844), two seals of public notaries (“Daniel Thomas Lower Canada” and “E. Pellew Felton Province of Quebec”), and a piece of the Lone Pine with the inscription: "Portion of the Lone Pine from Rock in St. Francis River at Sherbrooke, PQ. Noted in Early History of the Eastern Tps. Destroyed in [violent] storm."

The file consists of six booklets and books of poetry by Minnie Hallowel Bowen. Three of them, Adoration Poems, Red Flower of Life Poems, and The Innkeeper of Bethlehem, were printed by Page and Sangster Print Company of Sherbrooke, in a series of publications called The Little Grey Books. A fourth one dated 1936, also printed by Page and Sangster Print Company is entitled Winnowaïa. The book is dedicated to Eva Matheson White, its foreword is by Frank Oliver Call, and it is related to the Abenakis. The other booklets are The Canadian Navy and The Story of the Lone Pine (1921). The file also includes a one-page transcript entitled "Epic of the Lone Pine" and the typescript for Winnowaïa.

The file contains primary source information on the life of Reverend Charles Revell Eardley-Wilmot from about 1895 to 1986. It consists mainly of correspondence exchanged between the Reverend and other clerical officials from both within Quebec and abroad, as well as some letters from him addressed to his wife Rose and daughter Barbara. The file also consists of some texts written by the Reverend, including one published by The Canadian Journal of Religious Thought in 1930 and one published by The Canadian Churchman in 1932. It also consists of one photograph of him, personal belongings such as his baptismal records, passport, and pocket diaries, as well as some biographical research and texts compiled by his daughter Barbara, obituaries, and a text written by his granddaughter Susan recalling her childhood memories of him. Also included in the file is a photocopy of the author's biography from the book "Benjamin Cronyn: First Bishop of Huron" written by Reverend A. H. Crowfoot, with whom Charles Revell Eardley-Wilmot corresponded.
