Ord family

The item is a photograph of John and Emma Ord and family of Brookbury. Most of the subjects in the picture were identified by a descendent of George (Gerry) Ord as follows, back row: Emma Torkelson Ord (mother of the children on the bench), John (Jack) Ord (father of children on the bench), unknown Ord family member. Front row: young boy with bicycle, unknown, Isaac Bartlett, (seated) 5 children on the bench: George (Gerry), Pansy, Henry (Harry), Annie (Lena) and Mary Annie (Mammie), Mary Ann Everett Bartlett (seated), young boy with bicycle, unknown.

Parker home

The item is a photograph of a house in Bulwer owned by Edward John Parker (1838-1935). Edward's son Rutherford (Rufus) Benjamin Hayes Parker (1879-1935) owned it after him. Curtis Ross purchased the house in 1947 and continued to live there for several years. The house was located next to the blacksmith shop west of the railroad tracks on the south side of the road going through Bulwer.


The item is a photograph of three women and three children, identities unknown, standing in front of a large two-storey white house, with attached summer kitchen and connecting carriage house, perhaps in Compton County.
