Biographical history
Kate Ethel Ferrin was born in 1874 in Holland, Vermont, the daughter of Elvyn Austin Ferrin (1845-1925) and Antha Esther Ferrin (née Kidder; 1849-1938). Kate's father, Elvyn, was Lill Ferrin Baldwin's brother, making Kate Lill's niece. She had a sister named Edith Mabel Ferrin (1869-1950). Kate attended Derby Academy. She died in 1941.

The subseries contains primary source information regarding the life of Kate Ferrin from 1889 to 1941. It consists of postcards, greeting cards and letters written by Kate to Edith Ferrin Williams, Lill Ferrin Baldwin, Harold Ferrin Baldwin, and Ruth May Baldwin. One Christmas card is signed by Antha, Edith, Kate and Charlie, but the message within was written by Kate. It also consists of a program for the commencement exercises at Derby Academy.
