    Biographical history

Leeds Methodist Church was established in the 1830s. It was part of the New Ireland Circuit of the Wesleyan Methodist Church for some years before having its own, Leeds Circuit, in the 1850s. These circuits included many preaching points over the years such as Lower Ireland, Upper Ireland, Inverness, St. Sylvester, Leeds, and Ireland. Leeds Methodist Church closed around 1912.

    Custodial history

The records of Leeds Methodist Church were kept for many years with the records of Leeds United Church and Candlish United Church in Kinnear's Mills. Some records of Leeds Methodist Church were damaged by mice and destroyed by their custodians. The documents preserved were transferred to the Archives in 1999.

    Scope and content
