    Biographical history

    Mildred Ettra Waldron was born on 28 January 1924 in East Clifton. She was the daughter of Luman Augusta Waldron and Flora A. Cairns. She never married. She was a Townships author and researcher. She published family and local histories of the Compton County area and, in particular, the East Clifton area, such as the Descendants of T. Waldron and M. Morse, The Hills of Clifton, Sheepskin Joe and Descendants of Hugh E. Cairns and Sarah A Waldron.

    Mildred passed away 21 May 2008 at the age of 84 and is buried at the East Clifton Cemetery.

    Scope and content

    The collection contains source material on the history and families of Clifton and Eaton Townships, the village of East Clifton, in Compton County from 1890 to 2004. The fonds consists mainly of family trees, photographs, family histories and includes detailed genealogical information on various families, such as Waldron, Cairns, Smith, Schoff, Hurd, Lowry, Dempsy, Cooper, Forgrave, Banks, Hodgen, Gilbert, McConnell, Gray, Elliot, Lindsay, Bain, Graham, Jordon, Cromwell, MacRae, McBurney, Mackay, Hall, Gordon, Waters, Pope, Reed, Williams, Bellam, Barber, Betts, Blair and Hurley. It consists of the following series: Publications ([198-?]-[199-?]), Historical Research (1890-[199-?]), Genealogy ([196-?]-[199-?]) and Miscellaneous ([19--]-[199-?]).
