Biographical history
Robert Speid was born in Ardovie, Angus, Scotland and owned the estate of Ardovie. He married Christian Grierson and they had no children. Robert died in 1793. The estate was inherited by another Robert Speid. He was married to Isobel Hall and had six children including; James Speid, John Speid, and Henry Speid. Robert died in 1846 and the estate was inherited by his three sons.
