Scope and content

The subseries contains primary source information on the proposal by the United States to build a nuclear waste repository in Vermont from 1985 to 1986. Two of the proposed sites were located in Lake Memphremagog's watershed. It consists of correspondence, newspaper articles, reports, resolutions and minutes on the environmental repercussions of a nuclear waste dump and which protest against the placement of a dump in Vermont, as well as maps showing the proposed repository sites.
